GroundTime — Terms of Service
Last Updated: June 30, 2026
Welcome to GroundTime. These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you" or "User") and Threadwell Labs, LLC ("GroundTime," "we," "us," or "our"), a California limited liability company, governing your access to and use of the GroundTime mobile application ("App"), the GroundTime website ("Site"), and all related services, features, content, and functionality (collectively, the "Service").
By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Independent Platform Notice. GroundTime is an independent platform operated by Threadwell Labs, LLC. GroundTime is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any airline, airline labor union, government agency, or regulatory body. Airline names, badges, logos, and trademarks referenced within the Service, on the Site, or in any User's profile information belong to their respective owners and are used solely for identification and operational purposes. No User's submission of a crew identification badge to our verification process implies any endorsement, affiliation, or relationship with the airline that issued the badge.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use GroundTime. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old. If you are under 18, you may not use the Service under any circumstances. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that we reasonably believe belong to users under 18.
GroundTime is intended solely for current employees of U.S. airlines, including flight attendants, pilots, gate agents, ramp agents, dispatchers, and other airline crew roles ("Crew"). By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You are currently employed as Crew at a U.S. airline, or you fall within an eligibility category we have specifically opened to you.
- You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
- You are not prohibited from using the Service under any applicable law.
- You have not been previously removed or banned from the Service.
- You will complete our Crew verification process as described in Section 4 below before accessing verified-only features.
We do not knowingly collect information from or direct the Service to anyone under the age of 18. If we learn that a User is under 18, we will terminate their account and delete their data promptly.
2. Account Registration
To use the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- Maintain and promptly update your account information.
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials.
- Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
You may not assign or transfer your account to any other person or entity. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain inaccurate or incomplete information.
3. The Service
GroundTime is a verified-crew-only meetup and community platform that enables Crew to:
- Create profiles with limited identifying information appropriate to a Crew context.
- Create and join short-form meetups at airports, layover destinations, and base cities.
- Participate in ephemeral chat associated with a specific meetup, which closes three (3) days after the meetup occurs or is cancelled.
- Participate in a persistent per-base community surface ("Base Community") scoped to your domicile base and, where applicable, a local base of operation, subject to the membership terms in Section 12.
- Receive push notifications related to meetups, base community activity, and Service updates.
The Service is intentionally structured around the following commitments:
- No direct messaging. GroundTime does not offer one-to-one private messaging. All communication occurs within meetup chats or base community surfaces.
- No directory or profile browsing. GroundTime does not offer a searchable directory of Users or a "browse profiles" feature. Discovery occurs through meetups and the base community.
- Ephemeral meetup chat. Meetup chats close three (3) days after the meetup occurs or is cancelled and are not retrievable thereafter.
- Verified-only access. Only Users who complete our Crew verification process may access the full Service.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
4. Crew Verification
GroundTime requires every User to complete a manual Crew verification process before accessing verified-only features. As part of verification, you agree to submit:
- A photograph of yourself holding your crew identification badge ("Selfie"), and
- A close-up photograph of your crew identification badge ("Badge Photo"), and
- Your name, role, airline, and home base as represented on the badge.
By submitting these materials, you acknowledge and agree that:
- A Threadwell Labs team member (a human reviewer, not an automated system) will review your Selfie and Badge Photo to confirm that you appear to be Crew at the airline indicated on your badge.
- We do not conduct criminal background checks, financial checks, or any other form of investigative screening.
- We do not use automated facial recognition, biometric template extraction, or third-party biometric processors as part of verification.
- Your Selfie and Badge Photo will be deleted from our active systems within seven (7) days of the verification decision, regardless of outcome.
- An anonymized verification audit log (date of submission, reviewer, decision, decision reason) will be retained indefinitely for dispute and compliance purposes. This audit log does not contain your photographs.
If your verification is denied, you may resubmit corrected materials one (1) time, and you may dispute the decision by emailing legal@groundtime.com within seven (7) days of denial. A different reviewer will reconsider your submission.
You may request immediate deletion of your verification materials at any time prior to the seven-day deletion cycle by contacting privacy@groundtime.com. Doing so before the verification decision will result in your verification being treated as withdrawn and your access to verified-only features remaining locked until you resubmit.
5. Offline Interactions Disclaimer
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY.
GroundTime facilitates connections between Users, including the possibility of offline, in-person meetings at airports, hotels, restaurants, bars, and other public or private venues. You acknowledge and agree that:
- Verification is limited in scope. Our Crew verification process confirms only that the submitted Selfie and Badge Photo appear to identify the submitter as Crew. We do not conduct criminal background checks, identity verification beyond the badge submission, or any form of safety screening. A verified User may still misrepresent their character, intentions, or current employment status.
- No background checks. GroundTime does not conduct criminal background checks of any User.
- Assumption of risk. Any interactions you have with other Users, whether online or offline, are entirely at your own risk. You are solely responsible for your safety when meeting other Users in person.
- No liability for User conduct. GroundTime is not responsible for the conduct, whether online or offline, of any User of the Service. We are not a party to any interactions, agreements, or disputes between Users.
- Safety precautions. We strongly encourage you to take appropriate precautions when meeting anyone in person, including meeting in public places, informing a trusted person of your plans, and trusting your instincts.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GROUNDTIME DISCLAIMS ALL LIABILITY FOR ANY LOSS, INJURY, CLAIM, OR DAMAGE ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER USERS, WHETHER ONLINE OR OFFLINE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY CONDUCT OCCURRING AT OR IN CONNECTION WITH ANY MEETUP ORGANIZED THROUGH THE SERVICE.
6. User Content
6.1 Your Content
"User Content" means any content you create, upload, post, send, or otherwise make available through the Service, including but not limited to photos, profile information, meetup posts, meetup chat messages, base community posts and comments, and any other content visible to other Users.
You retain ownership of your User Content. However, by making User Content available through the Service, you grant GroundTime a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to:
- Host, store, cache, and back up your User Content.
- Process, analyze, and index your User Content, including through automated systems and artificial intelligence, including third-party service providers acting on our behalf solely to operate the Service.
- Moderate, review, and screen your User Content for policy compliance and safety.
- Display, distribute, and make your User Content available to other Users as part of the Service.
- Create derivative works as necessary to operate and improve the Service (e.g., resizing images, compressing media).
- Use your User Content in aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized form to develop, test, and improve the Service.
This license continues for as long as your User Content is on the Service and for a reasonable period after deletion to allow for backup and archival processes, except that content used in aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized form may be retained indefinitely.
6.2 Content Representations
By posting User Content, you represent and warrant that:
- You own or have the necessary rights and permissions to use and authorize GroundTime to use your User Content as described herein.
- Your User Content does not infringe, violate, or misappropriate any third party's intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
- Your User Content complies with these Terms and all applicable laws.
- You have obtained consent from any identifiable individuals depicted in your User Content.
6.3 Ephemeral Meetup Chat
You acknowledge that messages posted to a meetup chat are ephemeral and are permanently deleted three (3) days after the meetup occurs or is cancelled. We do not retain, archive, or back up meetup chat content after this period and cannot restore deleted meetup chat content.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to, and will not assist, encourage, or enable others to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Harass, bully, stalk, intimidate, threaten, defame, or abuse any User.
- Post content that is hateful, discriminatory, violent, sexually explicit, or exploitative.
- Post or share any content depicting or promoting harm to minors in any form, including child sexual abuse material ("CSAM"). We use automated hash-matching tools to detect known CSAM and will report violations to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children ("NCMEC") and applicable law enforcement.
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your identity, age, employer, or Crew status.
- Submit a Selfie, Badge Photo, or verification materials that are forged, manipulated, borrowed, or otherwise misrepresent your identity or current Crew employment.
- Create fake profiles or operate multiple accounts.
- Solicit personal information from other Users for commercial or malicious purposes.
- Engage in spam, phishing, or any form of unsolicited commercial communication.
- Upload content containing malware, viruses, or other harmful code.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other Users' accounts or any part of the Service.
- Use automated systems, bots, scrapers, or similar tools to access or interact with the Service.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or compromise the integrity or performance of the Service.
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security or access-control features, including the verified-Crew gate.
- Invite, organize, or solicit non-Crew individuals to attend meetups arranged through the Service.
- Sell, transfer, or share access to your account, including any Founding Member entitlement, with any other person.
- Use the Service for commercial purposes without our prior written consent, including advertising, solicitation, or promotion of goods or services.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
- Encourage or facilitate any violation of these Terms.
8. Messaging & Communications
The Service does not include direct messaging between Users. Communication occurs only within meetup chats (which are ephemeral) and the base community (which is persistent). You acknowledge and agree that:
- GroundTime is not responsible for the content of messages or posts made through the Service.
- Posts and messages may be reviewed, moderated, or analyzed by automated systems for safety, legal compliance (including CSAM scanning), and policy enforcement.
- We do not guarantee the delivery, receipt, or security of messages or posts.
- You are solely responsible for the content of your messages and posts and their compliance with applicable laws.
- We reserve the right to remove messages and posts and restrict messaging or posting capabilities for violations of these Terms.
By enabling push notifications, you consent to receiving notifications related to meetups, base community activity, verification status, and other Service-related updates. You may disable push notifications through your device settings at any time.
9. Location Data
The Service uses information about the airport and city you are currently in, your home base, and (where applicable) your local base of operation to power discovery, meetup creation, and base community membership. You acknowledge and consent to the collection and use of this information as described in our Privacy Policy.
GroundTime does not collect or display precise GPS coordinates between Users. We display generalized information such as airport codes, base assignments, and meetup locations. Disabling location services on your device may significantly limit or prevent your use of core features of the Service.
10. Moderation & Enforcement
GroundTime reserves the sole and absolute discretion to:
- Monitor, review, and moderate User Content and activity on the Service.
- Use automated systems, including hash-matching for CSAM detection, to detect and flag potentially violating content.
- Apply reactive (report-driven) moderation in the base community and other persistent surfaces.
- Remove, disable, or restrict access to any User Content that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable.
- Warn, suspend, or permanently terminate any User's account for violations of these Terms or for any reason we deem appropriate, including (without limitation) loss or revocation of verified-Crew status, identity misrepresentation, and abusive conduct.
- Revoke Founding Member status and any associated lifetime entitlement upon termination of the account for cause, including violations of these Terms. Termination of an account does not entitle the User to a refund of any prior payment.
- Report illegal activity, including without limitation CSAM, to appropriate law enforcement authorities.
- Cooperate with law enforcement investigations and legal processes.
We are not obligated to monitor the Service but may do so at our discretion. Our decision to take or not take enforcement action in one instance does not create an obligation to take or refrain from taking action in any other instance.
11. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, functionality, software, text, images, graphics, logos, trademarks, and all other content and materials (excluding User Content), is owned by or licensed to Threadwell Labs and is protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service, nor may you reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code, except as permitted by law.
12. Membership & Billing
12.1 Free Access
The following features of the Service are free for verified Crew and require no payment:
- Account creation and verification.
- Creating, joining, and attending meetups.
- Participation in ephemeral meetup chats.
- Profile and hub views.
12.2 Paid Feature: Base Community
Access to the persistent Base Community surface is a paid feature.
- Monthly Membership: US$5.99 per month, billed monthly via Apple's In-App Purchase system. After verification, you receive seven (7) days of free, unrestricted Base Community access. After that period, full action access requires a Membership. A 30-day free trial of the Monthly Membership is available; the trial commitment is made via Apple's In-App Purchase confirmation sheet. At the end of the trial, Apple will automatically charge US$5.99 per month unless you cancel through your iOS Settings before the trial ends.
- Founding Member: US$49.99 one-time payment for lifetime access to the Base Community, available to the first one thousand (1,000) paid Founding Members globally. Once one thousand (1,000) Founding Member spots are filled, the Founding Member tier closes permanently. Founding Member status is non-transferable and is granted to the individual verified User who completes the purchase. "Lifetime" means the lifetime of the Service as continuously operated by Threadwell Labs; if the Service is discontinued, no refund obligation applies (subject to applicable consumer protection laws).
- Annual Membership: Available after Founding Member spots are exhausted. US$49.99 per year, billed annually via Apple's In-App Purchase system. Auto-renewal applies as described below.
12.3 Apple In-App Purchase Disclosure
For Monthly Membership and Annual Membership purchases:
- Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the same price as the current period.
- Subscriptions may be managed by you, and auto-renewal may be turned off, by going to your iOS Account Settings after purchase.
- No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during an active billing period.
- Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited upon purchase of a subscription.
Apple's standard auto-renewable subscription terms apply to all Monthly and Annual Membership purchases and are available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/.
12.4 Refunds
Refunds for purchases made through Apple's In-App Purchase system are handled by Apple pursuant to Apple's refund policies. GroundTime does not directly process refunds for App Store purchases.
For Founding Member purchases, no refund is offered except where required by applicable consumer protection law or where Apple, in its sole discretion, grants a refund pursuant to Apple's policies.
13. Copyright Infringement — DMCA Policy
GroundTime respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects Users to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"), we will respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the DMCA and are properly submitted to our designated agent.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. GROUNDTIME DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. GROUNDTIME MAKES NO WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS ABOUT THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, COMPLETENESS, OR TIMELINESS OF ANY CONTENT, INFORMATION, OR MATERIALS PROVIDED THROUGH THE SERVICE. GROUNDTIME DOES NOT WARRANT THE CONDUCT, IDENTITY, INTENTIONS, LEGITIMACY, OR VERACITY OF ANY USER. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
15. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL GROUNDTIME, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, LICENSORS, OR SERVICE PROVIDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY USER, ANY INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER USERS (WHETHER ONLINE OR OFFLINE), OR ANY UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR CONTENT, EVEN IF GROUNDTIME HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
IN NO EVENT SHALL GROUNDTIME'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO GROUNDTIME IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00 USD).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless GroundTime, Threadwell Labs, LLC, and their respective affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and service providers from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, and fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; (d) your violation of any rights of another person or entity; or (e) your interactions with other Users, whether online or offline, including at meetups arranged through the Service. GroundTime reserves the right to assume exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification by you, and you agree to cooperate with our defense of such claims.
17. Dispute Resolution — Binding Arbitration & Class Action Waiver
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING YOUR RIGHT TO FILE A LAWSUIT IN COURT.
17.1 Agreement to Arbitrate
You and GroundTime agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service (collectively, "Disputes") will be resolved exclusively through final and binding individual arbitration, rather than in court, except that: (a) either party may bring individual claims in small claims court if the claims qualify; and (b) either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in court for infringement or misappropriation of intellectual property rights.
17.2 Arbitration Procedures
Arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect. The arbitration will be conducted in English and will take place in the County of Los Angeles, California, or at another mutually agreed location. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction.
17.3 Class Action Waiver
YOU AND GROUNDTIME AGREE THAT EACH PARTY MAY BRING DISPUTES AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. THE ARBITRATOR MAY NOT CONSOLIDATE MORE THAN ONE PERSON'S CLAIMS AND MAY NOT PRESIDE OVER ANY FORM OF CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.
17.4 Opt-Out
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to GroundTime within thirty (30) days of first accepting these Terms. The notice must include your name, mailing address, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of the arbitration agreement. Notices should be sent to:
Threadwell Labs, LLC
1111 6th Ave Ste 550 #269241
San Diego, California 92101
18. Governing Law
These Terms and any Disputes shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law principles. To the extent litigation is permitted under these Terms, you and GroundTime consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in the County of Los Angeles, California.
19. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by deleting your account through the App settings or by contacting us. Termination will:
- Permanently revoke your access to verified-only features.
- Cancel any auto-renewing Monthly or Annual Membership at the end of the current billing period; refunds are not provided except as required by law or by Apple's policies.
- Result in deletion of your account data and User Content within a reasonable period, subject to our data retention policies and legal obligations described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, including but not limited to a violation of these Terms or loss of verified-Crew status. Upon termination:
- Your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
- We may delete your account data and User Content, subject to our data retention policies and legal obligations.
- Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to Sections 4, 5, 6, 7, 11–18, and 20.
20. General Provisions
20.1 Modification of Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms within the App or on the Site, or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.
20.2 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and GroundTime regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
20.3 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
20.4 Waiver
The failure of GroundTime to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
20.5 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights hereunder without our prior written consent. GroundTime may assign these Terms without restriction.
20.6 Apple as Third-Party Beneficiary
You acknowledge and agree that Apple, Inc., and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms with respect to your use of the App on an iOS device, and that, upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.

If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) of the App; to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation, and any other claims attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty will be Threadwell Labs' sole responsibility.
22.5 Product Claims
Threadwell Labs, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the App or your possession and/or use of the App, including product liability, regulatory, and consumer-protection claims.
